No surprise on this one, but I was in traffic one morning.
Everyone who has traffic in their immediate area and drove this particular morning had to experience traffic. I do think that the Washington, DC region has a different type of traffic because it has the potential to demoralize and drain you.
For real. You know it.
Yet, one of the most frustrating traffic experiences deals...with rubbernecking.
Ugh!
Rubberneckers...stop the insanity! If you want to gaze at an accident, then get out and help. Or, pray for those affected as you continue to drive. Otherwise, keep it moving.
Look, you're concerned. I get it. At least, I hope you are genuinely concerned and not trying to cop a video or photo for your social media page in order to gain followers. Other than the attempt to gain followers, share a page that is devoted to avoiding accidents and that promotes good driving because the roads need skilled, safe, and solid drivers.
There's a name for a driving school: Skilled, Safe, and Solid.
But, rubberneckers...Stop. Slowing. Up. Traffic!
Rubbernecking flows from the highways and backroads to regular activities and goals. Yet, it does have its negative and positive blows. For example, if you get side tracked or distracted by a video on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, while you have been diligent with another task, then you are rubbernecking. Keep focused. The video will be in its same place later.
As for the positive note about rubbernecking...take the same social media example above. Now, when you rubberneck, it reminds you to do a task that you have procrastinated on for a while.
Somehow, rubbernecking has to improve.
Much success to you | Derek | @teemptraining | derekteempt@gmail.com
